Safety Cover Maintenance

Following these steps will help protect your pool, your cover, and your investment.

Keep the Cover Clear

• Remove leaves, twigs, and debris from the cover regularly. Dry leaves can be blown off with a leaf blower. Wet leaves should be pushed off gently with a pool brush to avoid stressing the cover.

• Never allow heavy piles of leaves or branches to sit on the cover, as this adds unnecessary strain.

Manage Water and Snow

• Safety covers are designed to handle rain and snow. However, do not allow large amounts of water or ice to sit for long periods. After heavy rain, check the pool water level and ensure it remains at the proper winterized level.

• Snowfall will spread evenly across the cover. Allow it to melt naturally—do not attempt to chip or shovel ice, as this may cause damage.

Use of Cover Pumps

• We recommend using an automatic cover pump to remove standing water quickly after rainfall or melting snow. This prevents excess weight from stretching or stressing the cover.

• Place the pump in the center of the cover, attach a discharge hose, and connect it to a power source. Be sure to check the pump periodically to confirm it is working properly.

• Always remove the pump before heavy snowfall to prevent damage.

Avoid Improper Weights

• Do not place bricks, blocks, or other heavy objects on the cover to weigh it down. The straps and anchors are designed to do the work. Extra weight can cause serious damage if pulled into the pool.

Watch for Damage

• Covers can develop wear from sharp edges, rodents, or other factors. The warranty typically covers only manufacturing defects, such as seam separations—not rips or tears from outside causes. If you notice damage, let us know right away to discuss repair or replacement options.

• A properly installed safety cover provides a secure barrier, giving peace of mind all winter. Make sure the cover is fully secured at all times to protect both your pool and your family.
